Berkey Sport Bottle Review

If you’re here, you may or may not have seen my other reviews of Berkey products like the Berkey Light Water Filter or the Big Berkey Water Filter; but if you have, you already know that I like Berkey’s water filters better than anything else on the market because they’re unique and the Berkey Sport Bottle isn’t any different. It’s truly one of a kind.
The Berkey Sport Bottle’s capacity is 22 ounces and it can be used to filter water out of the ditch. Or a stagnant pond. River. It doesn’t matter; the Berkey Sport Bottle can make just about any water source you can find drinkable and it’s perfect for taking overseas when you’re visiting countries that don’t have the best water quality. The way it works is simple: you take off the lid, put water into it, and squirt the water back out into another container through the straw that’s included. Do this at least twice to get the maximum amount of filtration effectiveness. If you’re using water that could contain a large amount of bacterial contaminants, use a couple of drops of bleach in the water first, then filter it twice. The bleach will kill the majority of the bacteria and as the water is filtered through the straw, the bleach and dead bacteria will be removed.
The Berkey Sport Bottle can be refilled up to 160 times if you are filtering water from questionable sources and up to 640 times if you’re using tap water.
This is a really convenient product and I use it even while traveling within the United States, because the quality and taste of tap water changes from location to location. Ever been in a motel room that has awful tasting water out of the faucet? Yuck! Get a Berkey Sport Bottle instead and take it with you if you travel a lot.
